Using Service Manuals

Service manuals are often helpful for specific issues on individual machines, but attempting to learn sewing machine repair by using manuals is tough. The instructions in a manual only apply to that one machine. The measurements may be vastly different. It is also very time consuming and requires you to have a manual for each machine you service. A better way is to learn the principles so you can apply them. Then your dependence on manuals decreases greatly.
