He has authored over 25 books and participated in several others.

In 1992, David and his wife, Donna, opened The Sewing Studio, a full service sewing center from their home in Georgetown, Texas.  They quickly discovered a huge demand for sewing machine repair.

After a furious and frustrating search for resources, training, and help; David trained with Allyn International of Denver, Brother International, Baby Lock, Juki, and many others.

As the business grew, they rented a small retail space.  David serviced machines from his shop in his garage.  Eventually, Temple Sewing And Supply, Inc formed with multiple locations.  Small repair shops were set up in each location.

The company became Authorized Dealers for Baby Lock, Brother, Elna, Janome, Juki, Necchi, Simplicity, and several commercial lines.

In June , 2016, he sold Temple Sewing And Supply, Inc and its stores "Sew And Quilt" to his son Jeremiah.

While officially retired, David continues to manage the institute with the help of his daughter, Joyanna, and son, Jeremiah.

He actively volunteers for and supports the Castle Christian Ministries.  (www.CastleChr.com) which owns and operates Fix Sewing Machines Institute are donated to the support of Castle Christian.
